Brevo Alternatives: 6 Email Tools Founders Actually Switch To (2026)

Brevo (the platform formerly known as Sendinblue) sells itself as the affordable all-in-one: email, SMS, a CRM, and automation under one roof. For a while that pitch holds. Then the cracks show. Deliverability has slipped in recent inbox tests, the template library is thin, ecommerce is an afterthought, and the per-email pricing model means the more you actually nurture your list, the more you pay. When Brevo reshuffled its plans in late 2025, a lot of users went looking for the exit.

We run Cut The SaaS on a deliberately small stack, so we have wired up and torn down our share of email tools. Nobody pays us to recommend anything here. We read the top-ranking "Brevo alternatives" lists, threw out the affiliate noise, and verified every price ourselves in June 2026. Below are the six that genuinely matter, who each is for, and when you should just stay on Brevo.

The verdict

Brevo is fine, and "fine" is exactly why people leave it. Want the simplest, cleanest swap that just works? MailerLite. Building a SaaS that needs transactional email from your code? Resend. Want product email and marketing email in one modern dashboard? Loops. Selling physical products? Klaviyo, no contest. Writing a newsletter and selling to your audience? Kit. And if you want the household name your team already half-knows, Mailchimp. Pick the one job you actually do, match the tool to it, and stop paying Brevo per email for the privilege of emailing your own list.

The picks that earn their seat

01

MailerLite

The cleanest like-for-like swap: simpler than Brevo, flat pricing, and deliverability that keeps winning inbox tests.

$ Free up to 500 subscribers (12,000 emails/mo). Growing Business from $10/mo, Advanced from $20/mo, all with unlimited monthly emails. Priced by subscriber count, not per email sent.
Use when
You want newsletters, simple automations, and landing pages without Brevo's clunk, and you would rather pay one flat fee than watch the bill climb every time you send more.
Skip when
You need built-in SMS and WhatsApp in the same tool, or a CRM bolted onto your email. Brevo bundles those; MailerLite stays focused on email.
02

Resend

The developer's choice for transactional email: a clean API, great deliverability, and no marketing-suite bloat.

$ Free up to 3,000 emails/mo (100/day). Pro from $20/mo. Marketing email is billed separately by contact count. Note: Resend raised several Scale-tier prices in a recent update.
Use when
You are sending email from your app (password resets, receipts, notifications) and want to ship it in an afternoon with React-based templates and real logs.
Skip when
You are a non-technical marketer who needs a drag-and-drop builder, visual automations, or a campaign dashboard. Resend is built for code, not click-and-send.
03

Loops

The SaaS founder's favorite: transactional and marketing email in one fast, modern dashboard, all features on every plan.

$ Free up to 100 subscribers (4,000 sends/mo) with a Loops footer and full features. Paid from $49/mo at 5,000 contacts. Priced by subscriber count.
Use when
You run a SaaS or app and want product email and marketing email in one place, with a clean UI and setup measured in minutes.
Skip when
You have a large list but send rarely. Loops charges per contact, so it gets expensive past a few thousand subscribers, exactly where Brevo's per-email model can stay cheap.
04

Klaviyo

If you sell physical products, this is the ecommerce email engine Brevo only pretends to be.

$ Free up to 250 active profiles (500 sends/mo). Email plan from $20/mo, Email + SMS from $35/mo. Priced by active profiles, with SMS billed as separate credits.
Use when
You run a Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce store and want product-aware flows, deep segmentation, revenue attribution, and SMS in one tool.
Skip when
You do not sell products. For a plain newsletter or service business, Klaviyo is overkill and the bill climbs fast as your profile count grows.
05

Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

Built for creators who sell, not marketing-ops teams who build funnels.

$ Free Newsletter plan up to 10,000 subscribers (with Kit branding). Creator from $25/mo, Creator Pro from $50/mo, billed annually and scaling with subscribers.
Use when
You are a newsletter writer, course seller, or solo creator who wants tagging, sequences, and built-in monetization over SMS, WhatsApp, and a CRM you will never open.
Skip when
You need multichannel sends or transactional email. Kit is laser-focused on creator email and skips the all-in-one extras Brevo bundles.
06

Mailchimp

The household name: the most polished editor and templates, if you can stomach the contact-based pricing.

$ Free up to 500 contacts. Essentials from $13/mo, Standard from $20/mo at the entry tier, both scaling with contact count (at 5,000 contacts, Essentials runs about $75/mo).
Use when
You want the slickest drag-and-drop editor, the biggest template library, and a tool your whole team already half-knows. Brevo's templates are noticeably thinner.
Skip when
You have a big list, since contact-based pricing punishes large audiences hard. This is the exact scenario where Brevo's per-email model wins on price.

✂ What to cut first

Here is the cut nobody selling email software will tell you: most of you do not have a Brevo problem, you have a sending problem. We have watched founders pay for SMS, WhatsApp, a CRM, and a 12-step automation builder, then send one newsletter a month to a list that barely opens it. Before you migrate anything, audit what you actually use. If it is newsletters plus a welcome sequence, drop to MailerLite and pocket the difference. If it is transactional email from your app, that is Resend, and your marketing tool is a separate, smaller decision. If you are paying Brevo for a CRM you check twice a year, cut the CRM, not the email. The goal is not a shinier all-in-one. It is a smaller bill and an inbox your readers actually open.

FAQs

What is the best free alternative to Brevo?+

MailerLite has the strongest free plan for most founders: up to 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails per month, with a clean editor and simple automations. For sending email from your app, Resend is free up to 3,000 emails per month. For creators, Kit's free Newsletter plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers (with Kit branding). All three are genuinely usable for free, not just trials.

Why do people leave Brevo?+

Three reasons come up most. First, deliverability has slipped in recent independent inbox tests, so more email lands in spam. Second, the per-email pricing model means heavy senders can see bills climb fast, and Brevo reshuffled its plans in late 2025, which annoyed long-time users. Third, the template library is thin and ecommerce features are basic compared to dedicated tools like Klaviyo.

Is Brevo cheaper than MailerLite and Mailchimp?+

It depends on how you send. Brevo prices per email sent with unlimited contact storage, so a huge list that you email rarely can stay cheap. MailerLite and Mailchimp price by subscriber or contact count, so a big list costs more even if you send less. If you have a large audience and send infrequently, Brevo often wins on price. If you have a small list and send often, MailerLite's flat unlimited-email model is usually cheaper.

What is the best Brevo alternative for transactional email?+

Resend is the cleanest choice for transactional email if you are technical: a simple API, React-based templates, real delivery logs, and 3,000 free emails per month. Loops is a strong option if you want transactional and marketing email together in one dashboard. Both deliver from your app more reliably and with less setup than Brevo's transactional product.

Should I switch from Brevo if I run an online store?+

Probably yes, to Klaviyo. Brevo handles basic ecommerce, but Klaviyo is purpose-built for online retail: deep integrations with Shopify and WooCommerce, product-aware abandoned-cart and post-purchase flows, revenue attribution, and SMS in the same tool. The trade-off is price, which scales with your active-profile count, so it is worth it once your store revenue justifies the spend.
